Last week, my son Riley had his 16th birthday and school prom. Talk about landmarks. While his birthday was celebrated with a punishing mountain bike (for me, not him) and a large cookie, I wanted to make a bit more of an effort for his prom, so I dug out some studio lights, asked him to get dressed early and went into the back garden.
If I said he enjoyed having his picture taken, that would be a lie. Teenagers don’t tend to enjoy anything beyond sleeping, but even so I’m delighted with the shots I got.
Amazing what you can do with one light, a Fujifilm X-T1 a couple of zoom lenses and 30 minutes.
